News Burst: Bye bye Dreamcast

According to reports Sega has confirmed it plans to scrap its Dreamcast video game console and focus on making software for systems made by companies such as Sony and Nintendo.

Sega said it will halt Dreamcast production immediately and slash the US retail price to $100 from $150 to clear out remaining inventory. Sega plans to make games for other video game systems as well as handheld computers made by companies such as Palm.

While full medical records may be of (dubious) value at rear/base medical facilities, these could be provided much simpler by either physical disk or electronic transfer to an "in theatre" database for individuals posted in. That £80m (and it's associated running costs) could have been far better employed in resuscitating a disbanded infantry battalion or providing a big boost in equipment quality and quantity.
