News Burst: Hospital hacked, patient records stolen

A computer intruder broke into a Seattle area hospital and downloaded thousands of private medical records earlier this year, according to a report on SecurityFocus.com.

The University of Washington Medical Centre is disputing the report. But SecurityFocus editorial director Kevin Poulsen says the hacker showed him some of the hospital's stolen records, which included files on 4,000 cardiology patients and 700 physical rehabilitation patients.
