News Burst: Photo booths to offer customised CDs

Photo-me booths are to offer users the chance to download music on to customised CDs it was announced Wednesday.

In a deal with American music site musicmaker.com, ten booths in London and New York will be fitted out with the service early next year.

The booths will let users select tracks from a database of 10,000 songs and personlise the CD case with different titles and graphics. Each CD should only take a few minutes to make.

While full medical records may be of (dubious) value at rear/base medical facilities, these could be provided much simpler by either physical disk or electronic transfer to an "in theatre" database for individuals posted in. That £80m (and it's associated running costs) could have been far better employed in resuscitating a disbanded infantry battalion or providing a big boost in equipment quality and quantity.
