MP3 books are a go go

While MP3 is busy transforming the music industry it is also setting its sights on the publishing industry as MP3Lit.com -- a Website devoted to MP3 books -- launches Wednesday.

The Website will offer short stories, novels, poems and essays. All are downloadable and available for free. Authors featured include Will Self, Tom Wolfe and P.J O'Rourke.

The Web site intends to be a vehicle for writers and publishers who want to distribute works direct to the public via the Net.

While full medical records may be of (dubious) value at rear/base medical facilities, these could be provided much simpler by either physical disk or electronic transfer to an "in theatre" database for individuals posted in. That £80m (and it's associated running costs) could have been far better employed in resuscitating a disbanded infantry battalion or providing a big boost in equipment quality and quantity.
