Bullet-proof speakers for full-on gamers from Pine

Are you one of those frenzied gamers that likes to hurl yourself about and ends up knocking things over? If so, you may be tempted by Pine's new multimedia speaker system.

Gaming has never been been a tranquil activity. So Pine have found way of protecting your kit aganist Quake II induced damage. The Magic Speaker, or SMS-8320 to give its more prosaic title, has woofers coated in Kevlar - the material used to make bullet-proof jackets.

The two piece system includes a 3 Kevlar Woofer and 13/4 two-way tweeter, along with an inbuilt volume control. You can get these hardcore speakers now for £17.50.

That £80m (and it's associated running costs) could have been far better employed in resuscitating a disbanded infantry battalion or providing a big boost in equipment quality and quantity.
