Communications technology has been a rapidly evolving sector for the last few years, with 'convergence' being the word on everyone's lips.

The winner of the Communications Product or Service of the Year at the CNET UK Business Technology Awards 2008 was BT, for its Web 21C Software Development Kit (SDK). A simple, eminently usable SDK, it will benefit both developers and BT itself by leading to a generation of innovative applications for the 21st Century Network (21CN). Even more, it will benefit the enterprise by making it easy to create new uses for the converging worlds of IT and telecoms.

All too often developers create code that has little value because they do not understand that business classes interact with other classes within the confines of a working model or pattern.
