'Watchdog' to savage Bulldog over broadband failings
Published: 06 Sep 2005 17:35 BST
After months of poor customer support and customer service problems, Bulldog is about to suffer the indignity of an appearance on the BBC's "Watchdog".
According to sources familiar with the situation, the consumer-rights TV programme will confront Bulldog on Tuesday night with a group of dissatisfied customers. This follows the campaigning efforts of angry Bulldog users such as Steve Collis, who encouraged over 130 fellow customers to lobby the telecoms regulator Ofcom to take action.
This campaigning was rewarded last week when Ofcom announced a formal investigation into Bulldog. Ofcom will examine whether Bulldog has billed customers for services that have not been provided, and failed to maintain proper complaints-handling procedures.
ZDNet UK has been contacted by hundreds of Bulldog users complaining about their service, an issue Bulldog recently tried to blame on BT.
The Watchdog programme featuring Bulldog is being shown at 1900BST on 6 September, on BBC1.
