Four men appeared in court in London on Tuesday accused of involvement in one of Britain's biggest ever mobile phone robberies.

Three of the four men charged are from Southall in Middlesex, and the fourth is from Walsall in the West Midlands. They have all pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiring to commit the burglary, and also deny two alternative charges of handling stolen goods.

The raid took place on 10 February this year. Some 25,000 WAP-enabled Samsung phones -- worth over £4m -- were stolen from a warehouse in Hayes, West London. Isleworth Crown Court heard that the theft resulted in a significant financial loss for Samsung, and also caused massive damage to the company's marketing plans.

Police arrested five men within days of the raid, and also recovered almost 10,000 of the stolen phones. The remaining handsets have not yet been recovered.

The case continues.
