The 808 Integrated Access Device is a budget-priced solution for SoHo buyers that provides Ethernet, an IP router and ISDN Internet access in a 15-minute install, according to the company. Street pricing is expected to be under £400 + VAT.

"Businesses who wished to provide their employees with Internet and ISDN access once had to set up ISDN lines and ISP e-mail accounts for each individual. Customers now only need one Compaq 808, one ISDN line and one ISP account for eight employees, saving them up to £630 per year," said Richard Brown, networking product manager, Compaq UK.
